WHAT IS YOUR AVERAGE RUNNING PACE AND GOAL?

My pace can range from 6:30/km to 3:35/km, depending on whether I’m running an ultra or doing VO2 max intervals. My average pace over the course of the week is probably around 5:00/km. My next goal is a personal best at the Berlin Half Marathon in April—I’m targeting sub-1:25.

WHAT DO YOU TAKE WITH YOU ON A RUN?

The least amount of stuff possible. Other than shoes and clothes, what always comes with me is my watch. If the run is longer than 1.5 hours, I’ll bring a water bottle and gels. For the ultra, I wore a running vest that allowed me to carry two bottles, some energy bars, gels, an emergency kit, and a rain jacket.
