WHAT DO YOU DO TO WORK OUT?
I mostly run. I try to get in the gym once or twice a week, but that’s usually targeted at improving my running. During the first half of 2024, I swam and cycled while training for a triathlon. I’d like to start swimming again this spring.
HOW OFTEN DO YOU NORMALLY WORK OUT IN A WEEK?
Usually 5-6 times a week. I always make sure to get at least 1 rest day—not just to recover physically, but also as a mental break. Typically, while training for running events, you’ll gradually increase your weekly mileage over the course of a few weeks until you hit a peak week. Following that is a rest week, where I often take 2 days off instead of 1. That cycle repeats a few times until the race. After a race, I usually take 1 or 2 weeks off.
